How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    MET (MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL & TRIM) TECHNICIAN

    Location: Slough
    Salary: OTE £60,000+ | Basic £45,000 - £50,000+ DOE
    Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
    Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 4:30pm

    THE ROLE
    As an MET Technician, you'll be responsible for carrying out mechanical, electrical and trim work on accident-damaged vehicles, ensuring components are removed, repaired and refitted correctly and efficiently.

    Key responsibilities include:
    ·Carrying out mechanical, electrical and trim repairs to accident-damaged vehicles.
    ·Removing and refitting mechanical, electrical and interior components.
    ·Carrying out diagnostic checks and identifying faults where required.
    ·Working with Bodyshop technicians to support the complete vehicle repair process.
    ·Ensuring components are correctly aligned, fitted and functioning before completion.
    ·Using specialist tools and equipment safely and effectively.
    ·Completing allocated repairs efficiently while maintaining excellent workmanship.
    ·Following relevant quality, safety and manufacturer repair procedures.

    ABOUT YOU
    This opportunity would suit an experienced MET Technician / MET Technician - Mechanical, Electrical & Trim / Vehicle Technician who takes pride in delivering high-quality work and has strong practical knowledge across mechanical, electrical and trim systems.

    You'll ideally have:
    ·Recognised apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Mechanical, Electrical & Trim (NVQ / IMI / SVQ / ATA), with a commitment to continuous professional development.
    ·Previous experience as an MET Technician or within a professional bodyshop / accident repair environment.
    ·Strong mechanical, electrical and trim knowledge.
    ·Experience removing and refitting vehicle components following accident damage.
    ·Good understanding of modern vehicle repair methods and systems.
    ·Excellent attention to detail and pride in delivering quality workmanship.
    ·Ability to work efficiently while maintaining consistently high standards.
    ·A full UK driving licence.
