How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Technical Sales Manager

    £40,000 – £45,000 + Company Car + Benefits | Sheffield | UK & European Travel

Are you a technically minded sales professional looking for your next challenge?

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established, specialist  business and play a key role in developing its customer base across the UK and Europe.

The company is a world leader in the repair of induction furnaces, coils, water-cooled leads and associated systems, and is looking for a Technical Sales Manager to join its established team.

This is a role where you can genuinely make an impact. You’ll have the opportunity to build relationships with key customers, understand their technical challenges and work closely with the production team to deliver the right solutions.

    The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Director of Sales, you’ll take ownership of a portfolio of key accounts while actively developing new business opportunities.

You’ll be the main point of contact for customers, providing technical support, managing quotations and negotiations, and ensuring customers receive excellent service from initial enquiry through to delivery and after-sales support.

The role is varied and offers plenty of autonomy, with extensive UK and European travel.

    What You'll Be Doing

Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers across the UK.
Identify and secure new business opportunities.
Provide customers with technical product advice, support and troubleshooting.
Receive customer specifications and work with the Works Manager to prepare accurate quotations.
Manage the sales and negotiation process from enquiry through to order.
Prepare proposals and internal contract documentation.
Follow up customer orders to ensure smooth, on-time delivery.
Build strong relationships with customers to maximise repeat business and after-sales opportunities.
Work closely with the production team to ensure an effective service is delivered.
Develop and maintain relationships with appointed agents.
Visit customers and agents across the UK and Europe.
    About You

We’re looking for someone who can combine technical understanding with commercial confidence.

You may already be working in technical sales, engineering sales, capital equipment, maintenance or a related environment. Alternatively, you may have an electrical or mechanical engineering background and have developed strong commercial and customer-facing skills.

    Ideally, you’ll have:

Experience within foundry, capital equipment or maintenance sales, or a strong engineering background.
Mechanical or electrical engineering qualifications would be advantageous.
    Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Strong commercial awareness and the confidence to negotiate.
Good project management and organisational skills.
The ability to understand technical requirements and translate them into practical solutions.
A proactive approach to developing new business.
A full UK driving licence and valid passport.
The flexibility and willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK and Europe — potentially up to 75% of your time.
    What’s on Offer?

    £40,000 – £45,000 per annum
    Company Car
    Company Pension
    Life Insurance

    Why Join?

This is much more than simply a sales role.

You’ll be joining an established specialist business where technical expertise, customer relationships and quality of service really matter. You’ll have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of customers, travel across the UK and Europe, and become a key part of the company's continued growth.

If you’re technically strong, commercially minded and enjoy building relationships with customers, we’d love to hear from you.
