How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Archangel Lightworks is a laser communications company building wireless technology. Founded in 2017, we believe that laser communications to and from satellites is a key component of next-generation infrastructure. Our core product, the TERRA-M, is a deployable optical ground station with proven capability for space – ground data transfer.

Our team develops and operates products that advance the security and resilience of critical national infrastructure. We value compassion, resilience, curiosity, ownership and integrity. Our start-up is a fast-paced and supportive environment, where you can contribute to novel technology with meaningful applications like reducing the Digital Divide.

Archangel Lightworks recently closed over £10 million of investment in an oversubscribed Series A funding round. Our company is also supported by the UK Space Agency, the UK’s Department of Science and Technology (DSIT) and the UK Ministry of Defence.

    About the job
We’re looking for a Talent Acquisition Coordinator to join our team and help us attract and hire top talent in the laser communications industry. You will take ownership of the day-to-day coordination of recruitment activity, helping to provide an efficient and engaging hiring experience for candidates and hiring managers.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    * Coordinate end-to-end recruitment activity within our ATS, including opening and closing vacancies, progressing candidates through recruitment pipelines and maintaining accurate candidate and vacancy information

    * Partner with hiring managers to coordinate recruitment activity, understand hiring requirements and keep recruitment processes moving efficiently

    * Review and screen CVs against role requirements, identifying candidates to progress through the recruitment process

    * Conduct initial screening calls with candidates to assess experience, motivation and suitability

    * Coordinate and complete pre-employment checks as part of the onboarding and recruitment process

    * Proactively identify and engage potential candidates through our internal database, professional networks, job boards and other external sourcing channels

    * Monitor recruitment performance using pipeline metrics, sourcing data and job board effectiveness, providing insight into where we can improve hiring outcomes

    * Maintain a high-quality candidate experience through timely, professional and engaging communication throughout the recruitment process

    * Ensure candidate information and recruitment activity are managed in line with GDPR requirements and internal processes.

    Requirements:

    * 3+ years’ experience in a recruitment-focused role

    * Experience managing recruitment activity and candidate pipelines using an Applicant Tracking System (ATS)

    * Experience recruiting for technical, engineering or other specialist roles

    * Experience proactively sourcing and engaging passive candidates

    * Strong written and verbal communication skills

    * Strong organisational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple vacancies and candidate pipelines simultaneously

    * Good understanding of GDPR requirements and the appropriate handling of candidate and recruitment data

    * A proactive and collaborative approach to working with hiring managers, candidates and colleagues

    Desirable additional skills:

    * Experience analysing recruitment funnel performance and the effectiveness of different sourcing channels

    * Experience working in a start-up, scale-up or other fast-paced environment

    Location:

Our office is based in Osney Mead, Oxford. There may be opportunity to work from home as agreed with your line manager. There may be opportunity for periodic business travel.

    What we offer:

    * Opportunity to work on advanced optical systems to support a world-changing vision

    * A collaborative and transparent culture with strong links between functions

    * Regular socials and weekly company lunch

    * Professional development and skills growth within a specialist engineering field

    * Competitive salary and benefits package, with equity options in a growing start-up

    * 25 days annual leave allowance plus bank holidays
