How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    HR Consultant
    Remote – Leeds / North region, with travel to client sites in and around the Leeds area
    £40,000 DOE + commission, with OTE up to £46,000
    Monday - Friday Full-time, Permanent

    We’re working with an established and growing HR consultancy that partners with businesses across a range of sectors, providing practical people solutions alongside trusted strategic advice.

    As the business continues to grow, they are looking for an experienced HR Consultant to join their team. This is a varied role where you’ll work closely with a portfolio of clients, helping them navigate everyday people challenges while also supporting longer-term HR and organisational objectives.

    Please note: A full UK licence and access your own vehicle is required, although you will work predominantly remotely, regular travel to client locations is required.

    Your Responsibilities:

    Manage a portfolio of clients, providing HR advice and support via telephone, email, video calls and face-to-face meetings.
    Develop strong, long-term relationships and become a trusted point of contact for HR matters.
    Deliver practical and commercially focused advice tailored to each client’s needs.
    Complete HR reviews and audits, identifying areas of risk and opportunities for improvement.
    Support clients with HR projects, documentation, processes and wider people initiatives.
    Manage employee relations matters from initial advice through to resolution.
    Provide guidance on disciplinary, grievance, capability, performance and conduct issues.
    Attend and support formal meetings either remotely or at client premises.
    Ensure advice remains compliant with current UK employment legislation and best practice.
    Advise managers on short- and long-term absence cases.
    Support return-to-work processes, welfare meetings and ongoing absence management.
    Provide guidance around policies, procedures and appropriate next steps.
    Lead and advise on redundancy, restructuring and organisational change programmes.
    Provide support throughout TUPE processes, ensuring all relevant requirements are managed effectively.
    Advise clients on employment implications when making organisational changes.
    Review and develop HR policies, procedures and employee documentation.
    Support clients with flexible working and family-friendly employment matters.
    Develop effective onboarding, induction and probation processes.
    Advise on early-stage employment issues and help clients create positive employee experiences.
    Advise clients on EDI matters and support the development of inclusive workplace practices.
    Assist with training, impact assessments and sensitive cases involving discrimination, bullying or harassment.
    Provide guidance throughout the recruitment and selection process.
    Develop job descriptions and recruitment processes aligned with individual client requirements.
    Support clients with selection methods, assessments and psychometric testing where appropriate.
    Help businesses improve their approach to attracting and selecting talent.
    Identify training and development requirements across client organisations.
    Create and deliver tailored HR training sessions for managers and employees.
    Support businesses in addressing skills gaps and strengthening management capability.
    Provide advice around salaries, benefits and reward structures.
    Support clients with remuneration reviews and broader reward strategies.
    Assist with areas such as gender pay gap reporting where required.
    Provide support across a broad range of HR projects, including settlement agreements, exit processes, early conciliation and employment documentation.
    Take on ad-hoc consultancy assignments based on client requirements.As a client-facing consultant, you’ll also play a part in supporting the continued growth of the consultancy.

    Attend networking events and develop relationships within the local business community.
    Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships and introduce additional services.
    Generate repeat and referral business through excellent service and strong client relationships.
    Contribute ideas and knowledge to help improve the wider consultancy offering.What You’ll Bring

    We’re looking for an experienced HR professional who combines strong technical knowledge with excellent relationship-building and consulting skills.

    A strong generalist HR background is essential, preferably gained within an HR consultancy, outsourced HR environment or multi-site organisation is highly desirable.
    Comprehensive knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
    Significant experience handling complex employee relations cases.
    Experience supporting organisational change, including redundancy and TUPE.
    Strong coaching, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
    Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    A commercially minded and solutions-oriented approach.
    Strong organisation, prioritisation and time management skills.
    Experience managing HR projects from planning through to completion.
    Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and experience using HR systems and CRM platforms.
    High levels of discretion, accuracy and confidentiality.
    The confidence and flexibility to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a wider team.
    A willingness and ability to travel to client sites when required
