How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Coordinator to join a well-established company.

    Job Type: Full time

    Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 plus performance incentives

    Location: Cardiff

    About The Company:

The Company is an established facilities management company specialising in the food and beverage industry. We’ve built our reputation on getting the right job done, at the right price, for our clients. This role sits at the heart of operational efficiency and client satisfaction.

They are now looking for someone who understands maintenance, trades and contractors to help us manage our growing network of contractors.

You might be an experienced tradesperson looking to ‘get off the tools’, a supervisor looking for an office-based role, or you are already experienced in contractor management. What matters is that you understand the world of property maintenance, can speak confidently to contractors, and manage multiple orders at the same time.

The role is essentially about getting the right contractor onto the right job.

    What you will be doing:

Allocating maintenance and planned orders to contractors across the country

Speaking with contractors to discuss availability and arrange attendance

Finding and onboarding new subcontractors where we need additional coverage

Managing live jobs and chasing progress where required

Making sure reports, photos and paperwork are returned within job deadline

Audit each job to ensure the correct works have been carried out, especially on emergency repairs.

Ensure costings are accurate before purchase and sales invoice processing

Daily team meetings to discuss priorities with the team.

Build and maintain relationships with reliable contractors.

Verify contractor qualifications, insurance, certifications and compliance documents.

Maintain an up-to-date approved subcontractor database.

The role requires managing multiple jobs at once using our custom job management software, so you’ll need to be organised, confident on the phone, comfortable using operational systems, and capable of making practical, trade related decisions.

    Key Duties:

Has experience with maintenance, facilities management, contractors, internal workforce or subcontractors – either on the tools or in the office, and either small scale or large scale.

Understands how maintenance jobs work on the ground

Is confident speaking with clients and contractors

Can stay organised when multiple jobs are happening at the same time

Is commercially aware and looks for solutions

Is comfortable using job management software

Understands job costing, invoicing and commercial control

Previous experience in a similar role is useful but is not essential. The role would also suit someone with strong practical experience who is ready to step away from working on the tools and use that knowledge in an operational role.

    What you will get:

Has experience with maintenance, facilities management, contractors, internal workforce or subcontractors – either on the tools or in the office, and either small scale or large scale.

    £35,000 - £40,000 plus performance incentives

25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

    Company pension

    Company laptop and mobile phone

    Working from home

    Ongoing training and professional development

    Annual salary review

What we’ll be looking for in your interview:

We keep our interview process straightforward and focused on real-world skills. If you’re invited to interview, we’ll want to explore:

Your trade knowledge and experience: any hands-on experience, technical experience, or how well you understand actual jobs carried out by our workforce.

People management: How you’ve managed people, subcontractors, internal workforce, or specialist contractors in the past.

Commercial understanding: Your understanding of job costs, quotes, cost verification, and ensuring profitability while keeping client costs within limit.

Software usage in practice: a 10-minute hands on scenario deploying and managing a job in our test database.

If you feel that you have the relative skills/attributes to fulfil this role then please apply now for immediate consideration.
