How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    An excellent opportunity has arisen for a mechanically skilled Field Service Engineer to join one of the world’s most reputable manufacturers of high-quality process machinery.

    Working with advanced industrial homogenisers and homogenisation technology, you will service, maintain and repair specialist equipment used across industries including food, beverage, dairy, pharmaceutical and chemical manufacturing.

    This is a field-based position covering Yorkshire and the surrounding areas, with regular travel and occasional overnight stays. With door-to-door travel pay, overtime and bonuses, total earnings are expected to exceed £60,000 per year.

    What’s on offer?

    * Basic salary of up to £48,000, depending on experience

    * Door-to-door travel pay

    * Regular overtime with excellent earning potential

    * Expected total earnings of £60,000 - £80,000

    * Company car benefit

    * Performance-related bonuses

    * Specialist manufacturer and product training

    * Long-term career development with a respected global engineering business

    * Exposure to premium, technically advanced process machinery

    The role

    You will support customers throughout Yorkshire and the surrounding region, ensuring their homogenisation equipment continues to operate safely, efficiently and reliably.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    * Servicing, maintaining and repairing industrial homogenisers at customer sites

    * Diagnosing mechanical faults and completing effective repairs

    * Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and emergency breakdown work

    * Inspecting equipment and advising customers on performance, reliability and equipment life

    * Preparing the correct parts, tooling and equipment ahead of each visit

    * Completing accurate service reports and keeping customers informed throughout the work

    * Building strong relationships with customer engineering and production teams

    About you

    You will be a hands-on engineer with strong mechanical knowledge and experience maintaining or repairing industrial machinery.

    Ideally, you will have:

    * A City & Guilds qualification in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification

    * Strong mechanical engineering, servicing and fault-finding skills

    * Experience working with process machinery, rotating equipment, pumps, valves, compressors or similar industrial equipment

    * Previous field service or customer-site experience

    * Electrical knowledge or fault-finding ability, although this is not essential

    * A good understanding of workplace health and safety

    * Experience using lifting and slinging equipment safely

    * The ability to work independently, methodically and to a consistently high standard

    * Strong customer-facing and communication skills

    Direct experience with homogenisers would be advantageous, but engineers from other relevant industrial machinery or process-equipment backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

    This is an excellent opportunity to join a world-class machinery manufacturer, receive specialist technical training and build a long-term career within a highly respected engineering organisation.
