How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

We’re looking for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, responsible for ensuring that plant, machinery, and equipment meet agreed standards of operation, with a key focus on preventative maintenance scheduling.

Based at our client’s head office in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, this is a hands-on role with real responsibility. You’ll ensure our equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably, with a strong focus on planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and minimising unplanned downtime. You’ll be responsible for maintenance schedules, critical spares, tools, and servicing requirements, while working closely with Production, Facilities, Safety and Engineering teams.

You’ll respond quickly and effectively to breakdowns, diagnose faults, and implement preventative measures to keep equipment performing at its best. Just as importantly, you’ll identify opportunities to improve machine efficiency, safety, quality, and waste performance, helping us build a culture of continuous improvement.

We’re looking for someone with proven experience as a Multi-Skilled Engineer, ideally within welding, fabrication, or a similarly demanding manufacturing environment. You’ll have strong electrical fault-finding skills, PLC diagnostics experience and practical knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics. Experience implementing PPM schedules and improving overall equipment effectiveness is essential. Experience servicing and repairing CNC cutting equipment and welding robots would be a significant advantage.

If you’re self-motivated, solutions-focused, and confident working across teams, this is an opportunity to play a vital role in keeping a high-integrity manufacturing operation running safely, efficiently, and reliably.
