How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Third Party Motor Claims Handler — Bolton (BL7).

35-hour week, 9–5 Monday to Friday. No evenings. No weekends.

Free on-site parking. CII fully funded.

If you are a Third Party Motor Claims Handler who is quietly fed up of being a number on a dialler, read on. We are recruiting a Third Party Motor Claims Handler for an established insurance business in Bolton — a team where the third party motor claims work is genuinely yours to run, not scripted for you. You will own your caseload end to end: liability, negotiation, credit hire challenge, settlement. This is a Third Party Motor Claims Handler role for someone who already knows the difference between a hire claim worth paying and a hire claim worth fighting. If you can read a liability file and make the call yourself, you will not be micro-managed here.

The work • Third party vehicle and property damage claims, investigation through to resolution • Deciding liability — your own investigations, working with other departments where you need to • The complex end: high value claims, disputed liability, the files nobody else wants • Credit hire — validation, negotiation and challenging excessive hire charges • Dealing with solicitors, insurers and accident management companies • Spotting and escalating potential fraud

What we are looking for • 2 years or more in motor claims • Third party or credit hire experience — this is what gets you the top of the band • Sound judgement on liability and real attention to detail • Comfortable across multiple systems • GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) • CII Certificate held, or the appetite to work towards it — fully funded

What you get • £28,000 – £35,000 depending on what you bring • 35 hours, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm. Flexible working patterns available. Full-time or part-time considered • CII fully funded and supported • Holidays that grow with service, plus a holiday sell scheme • Your birthday off, and a half day for Christmas shopping • Free on-site parking, casual dress, free branded clothing • Contributory pension, cycle to work scheme • Cash bonus for going above and beyond • Trained mental health first aiders on site On site in Bolton — this is not a remote role, and the people who enjoy it are the ones who like having a team around them. Apply and I will call you for a proper conversation about it — what the team is actually like, who you would be working for, and whether it is worth your time
