How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Role

Working as part of a team, you will be responsible for carrying out fibreglass laminating work in accordance with lay-up drawings and specifications.

You will prepare moulds, apply the required coatings and materials, and build up layers of gel and fibreglass mat to achieve the required thickness and finish. Accuracy and attention to detail are important, as you will be responsible for ensuring completed products meet the required specifications and are free from defects.

    Key Duties & Responsibilities

Working as part of a team to complete laminating work to the required production schedule.
Reading and understanding lay-up drawings, specifications and work instructions.
Inspecting, cleaning and assembling moulds before beginning the manufacturing process.
Applying lacquers and waxes to mould surfaces to assist with the assembly and removal of laminated parts.
Applying layers of gel coat to prepared mould surfaces.
Placing fibreglass mat onto mould surfaces and applying further layers as required.
Building up layers of material until the product reaches the required thickness and specification.
Ensuring materials are applied correctly and consistently to achieve the required finish.
Masking off areas of moulds that are not required to be laminated using cellophane, wax paper, masking tape or specialist mould-release sprays.
Checking dies, templates and cut-out patterns prior to use in the manufacturing process.
Ensuring moulds and materials are correctly prepared before commencing work.
Allowing laminated materials to cure/set at room temperature in accordance with the required process.
Inspecting completed products for defects and checking that they conform to the required specifications.
Identifying and reporting any defects, quality issues or discrepancies.
Maintaining a clean, tidy and organised work area.
Following all relevant health and safety procedures and wearing the required PPE.
Working carefully with materials, tools and equipment to minimise waste and maintain product quality.
Carrying out any other reasonable duties as required by the business.

Comfortable reading and understanding drawings or technical instructions.
Accurate and has excellent attention to detail.
Reliable, hardworking and committed to producing high-quality work.
Able to work effectively as part of a team.
Willing to learn and develop new manufacturing skills.
Comfortable working in a production/manufacturing environment.
Previous experience in fibreglass laminating, composites, GRP, moulding or a similar manufacturing environment would be advantageous, but is not essential.
Full training will be provided, so candidates with the right attitude and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
