How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Build Shop Operative – Temp to Perm

    Location: NR15
Pay Rate: From £13.00 per hour
    Job Type: Temporary to Permanent

Contract Personnel are currently recruiting for a Vehicle Panel Installer to join a growing team based in the NR15 area.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and is looking for a role that could lead to a permanent position.

No previous experience in vehicle conversions is essential, as full training will be provided. However, candidates should be confident using hand tools and portable power tools and have a practical, can-do approach to their work.

    The Role

Working as part of the production team, you will be responsible for cutting, shaping and installing foam insulation panels into vans, ensuring each conversion is completed accurately and to the required specification.

You will work from cutting lists and job specifications to determine the correct size and shape of each panel. This will involve measuring, marking and cutting foam sheets, as well as creating rebates, slots, grooves and other required sections to ensure the individual pieces fit together correctly to form a complete panel conversion.

Once prepared, the panels will be securely installed within the vehicle using appropriate fixing methods.

    Key Duties & Responsibilities

Preparing vans for panel installation, including stripping out existing fittings and preparing the working area.
Masking and protecting areas of the vehicle where required.
Carrying out minor wiring tasks as part of the preparation process.
Measuring, marking and cutting foam insulation panels accurately from cutting lists and job specifications.
Carving and shaping foam panels to follow the contours and shape of panel vans.
Cutting rebates, slots, grooves and other sections into foam panels to ensure a precise fit.
Installing Rockwool and foam insulation panels securely within van bodies.
Using gun foam and other appropriate fixing methods.
Building and installing wheel boxes and other customer-specific requirements using MDF and plywood.
Using a variety of hand tools and portable power tools, including jigsaws, routers, saws, drills and grinders.
Operating woodworking machinery safely and appropriately where required.
Checking completed work to ensure panels are correctly fitted and meet the required specification.
Preparing completed vehicles for the next stage of the production process.
Keeping the work area clean, tidy and organised at all times to minimise health and safety risks.
Following all relevant health and safety procedures and using tools and equipment responsibly.
Carrying out any other reasonable duties required by the business.

    What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is:

Practical and confident working with tools.
Comfortable measuring, cutting and working from specifications.
Able to work accurately and pay close attention to detail.
A good problem solver with a practical approach to their work.
Reliable, hardworking and willing to learn.
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
Ideally experienced in a practical, construction, carpentry, woodworking, vehicle conversion, manufacturing or similar environment.
Able to follow instructions and work to required deadlines.
Full training will be provided, so the right attitude and willingness to learn are just as important as previous experience.

    Requirements

Own transport is essential due to the location and/or working hours.
    Safety shoes are essential.
A willingness to learn and undertake practical, hands-on work.
Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work.

    Why Apply?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy production environment with the potential to move from temporary to permanent employment for the right candidate.

If you're practical, enjoy working with tools and are looking for an opportunity where you can develop new skills with full training provided, we'd like to hear from you.

Apply today to be considered for this Temp to Perm Vehicle Panel Installer position in NR15.
