How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Commercial Insurance Business Development Director (UK Retail)

    • Location: UK – Flexible / Hybrid Working (Mix of remote work, regional offices, and market-facing client visits)
    • Salary: Highly Competitive Base Salary + High-Earning Bonus Structure + Executive Benefits Package

    Position Brief
On behalf of our client, a rapidly expanding and highly respected name in the UK insurance landscape, they are seeking to appoint a high-calibre Business Development Director to spearhead strategic growth within its thriving UK Retail sector.
This is a high-profile, senior, market-facing mandate designed for a sophisticated corporate producer. Operating at the very heart of the Group’s aggressive expansion strategy, you will be tasked with accelerating new business income, unlocking major corporate opportunities, and cultivating long-term, high-value client partnerships.
As a primary market ambassador, you will leverage our clients extensive, specialised broking capabilities to deliver bespoke risk solutions, position the brand as the broker of choice, and directly influence the business's market share across the UK.

    Key Mandates & Performance Metrics
    • Drive Strategic Growth: Accelerate year-on-year premium and revenue growth specifically across the UK Retail division by identifying and converting high-yield corporate accounts.
    • Relationship Architecture: Establish, cultivate, and maintain sustainable, C-suite relationships with major decision-makers, risk managers, and corporate buyers.
    • Pipeline Discipline: Formulate, execute, and meticulously manage a high-quality, transparent, and disciplined new business pipeline from initial contact to successful closure.
    • Market Differentiation: Collaborate seamlessly with internal technical specialists and risk placement teams to architect bespoke, expert-led client propositions that clearly differentiate Clear Group from the competition.
    • Brand Ambassador: Act as a prominent, highly visible external face for the group at key industry events, networking forums, and market panels to continuously generate brand equity.
    Candidate Profile
    • Industry Expertise: An accomplished, heavy-hitting senior producer with a proven, consistent track record of high-value new business generation within the UK insurance broking sector (or closely aligned corporate financial services).
    • Established Network: Possesses an elite, pre-existing network of commercial contacts, corporate decision-makers, and active introducer channels that can be immediately leveraged.
    • Technical & Commercial Acumen: Demonstrates exceptional commercial intelligence, an intricate understanding of complex commercial insurance risks, and sophisticated negotiation prowess.
    • Relationship Management: A natural collaborator who is not only adept at winning new business but possesses the relationship-building skills required to ensure long-term client retention and organic account growth.
    • Mindset: Exhibits a highly ambitious, proactive, and resilient entrepreneurial mindset, balanced with a structured, disciplined approach to modern pipeline management.
    What’s on Offer
    • Financial Reward: A highly competitive executive base salary aligned with your experience, complemented by a rewarding, uncapped bonus structure directly tied to your successful new business delivery.
    • Flexible Working: True hybrid autonomy, giving you the balance to work from home, utilise modern regional office hubs, and spend time out in the market where it matters most.
    • Comprehensive Benefits: A premium corporate benefits package including an enhanced pension scheme, comprehensive private medical insurance, life assurance, lifestyle flex-benefits, and full support for ongoing professional qualifications (ACII).
    • Career Trajectory: A transparent path to further executive promotion within a heavily backed, fast-growing insurance group that actively rewards high performers
