Job Title: Sanctions & Screening Associate
Location: HEX (2-3 days onsite)
Contract Type: Temporary (12 Month Contract with Scope for Extension)

Our client, a prominent financial institution, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Sanctions & Screening Associate to join their dynamic team. This exciting opportunity is based in Cubitt Town and offers the chance to play a crucial role in maintaining compliance and upholding regulatory standards within the organisation.

Position Overview:
As a Sanctions & Screening Associate, you will be integral in supporting the day-to-day operational activities of the sanctions team. This role involves ensuring accurate and timely processing in accordance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include:

Reviewing sanctions screening results from the bank's software tool for vendors, suppliers, and customers across EMEA.
Analysing sanctions alert referrals from transaction control to determine if they require escalation or can be resolved with thorough research.
Ensuring all referrals are consistently reviewed within agreed cut-off times, adhering to bank policies and procedures.
Participating in quality assurance initiatives and resolving issues promptly while identifying opportunities for process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

Accurately assess alerts filtered by Transaction Control, managing daily workload efficiently to maintain high standards.
Engage proactively in ongoing quality assurance findings and escalate issues to management as needed.
Collaborate with the sanctions validation team to assist in screening, investigating, and compiling results into comprehensive reports.
Maintain a meticulous log of alerts and coordinate weekly updates for the department's management information (MI).

Essential Qualifications & Skills:

Understanding of the regulatory frameworks related to the UK Bribery Act, Financial Crime, Sanctions, and AML.
Recognised qualifications in AML, Sanctions, or Customer Due Diligence (e.g., ICA certificates, ACAMS) are preferred.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient research skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
Strong Excel capabilities for maintaining logs and reports.
