How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Electrical Fitter
    Electrical Production and Prototype Wiring Technician
    Reports to Electrical Production Engineer / Supervisor

    Electrical Fitter Position Overview
    This is a hands-on role, and you will be part of the team that assembles and builds electrical control panels, enclosures, and interconnecting cables for special purpose equipment. The role requires attention to detail as well as knowledge and understanding of electrical / electronic components, terminations, crimping, cabling and the ability to work with wiring drawings / schematics and able to wire to a very high manufacturing standard.
    Training will be provided to cover specific needs of the role and where there is a need to support installation work at a customer’s site, the team member must be willing to travel and represent the company in a professional manner.
    Electrical Fitter Roles and responsibilities: -
    * The Prototype Wire Person shall be responsible for day-to-day Electro-Mechanical wiring, and assembly.
    * Building sub-assemblies, and complete systems to drawings as per build procedures.
    * Ability to read electrical / electronic drawings, and work accurately to electronic procedures.
    * Build electrical control panel / enclosures from scratch including mechanical assembly.
    * Drill, tap, and fit panel internal components such as relays, terminal blocks, and power supplies.
    * Electrical crimping, soldering, wiring, and looming of control panel to a high standard.
    * To assemble cables including cable crimping on various types of connectors, cable terminating, and labelling to requirements.
    * Inspects, and testing completed electrical assemblies as required.
    * To support installation at customer sites.
    * To take pride in attention to detail, maintain high standards, and can work with minimal supervision.
    * To conduct final electrical / electronic inspection, and corresponding completeness of paperwork.
    Experience, Qualifications and Skills needed for the Electrical Fitter
    The following is not intended to be an exhaustive list of experience, qualifications, and skills, it is meant as an indicative representation as practical experience is often of a greater significance than academic qualifications.
    * Experience of panel wiring and machine wiring.
    * Demonstrable a basic electrical knowledge, and able to read, and work with schematics, and general engineering drawings.
    * Able to wire control panels / boxes, including crimping, soldering to high standard, and terminating.
    * Experience of electrical loom harnessing, and soldering to a high standard.
    * Demonstrable ability to work both independently, and as part of the team.
    * Conduct accurate logical decision making, and problem-solving skills.
    Qualifications needed for the Electrical Fitter
    * Apprenticeship, or equivalent educational background.
    Skills for the Electrical Fitter
    * Practical use of hand tools, and measuring devices competently, and safely.
    * Excellent hand-eye coordination.
    * Attention to detail.
    * High degree of common sense.
    * Good communication skills
