How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

2-Axis CNC Turning | Permanent Late Shift | 4-Day Week

This is a CNC programming role - not a setter/operator-only position. You must be confident writing new CNC turning programs from scratch at the machine, as well as setting and operating, with minimal supervision.

This is a genuine four-day working week: the shift finishes at 1.00 am on Friday morning, and you do not return to work until 4.30 pm on Monday.

Our client is specifically looking for someone who is already established in their career, with several years' experience programming, setting and operating CNC turning machines. Unfortunately, candidates who would require training to develop into programming cannot be considered, as our client does not currently have the capacity to provide this.

The salary £50,654-£57,319 per annum including the late-shift premium, depending on experience.

Proven experience programming, setting and operating 2-axis CNC turning machines.
Able to write new CNC programs from scratch/long-hand at the machine, with little or no supervision.
Strong working knowledge of G-code programming.
Confident completing the full machine set-up from engineering drawing to finished component, including material, tooling, speeds, feeds and cutting conditions.
Able to edit and optimise existing programs where required.
Strong understanding of engineering drawings, geometric tolerances, surface finishes and in-process inspection.
Experience producing one-off and low-to-medium-volume precision components in a range of hard and soft metals.
Confident working on parts from approximately Ø25 mm x 100 mm up to Ø300 mm x 3 m. Hoist training is provided.
Quality-driven, self-motivated and able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
Already established in your career - this role is not suitable for candidates who would need training to develop into programming.Desirable experience
