How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Site Manager – Cambridge

We’re looking for a Site Manager to join an established construction team working on a range of refurbishment and construction projects across Cambridge.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong trade background who is looking to take the next step in their career and develop as a Site Manager. A background in carpentry would be ideal, although we’re open to candidates from other relevant trades.

You’ll be involved in running projects from around £100k up to £1 million, with the majority of the work being refurbishment projects. You’ll be responsible for helping to keep projects running smoothly, safely and to a high standard, while working closely with the project team, subcontractors and clients.

    The role

    *

    Managing day-to-day activities on site

    *

    Coordinating subcontractors and site teams

    *

Making sure work is completed safely and to a high standard

    *

Keeping projects on programme and helping manage deadlines

    *

Working with the Project Manager and wider team

    *

    Monitoring quality and workmanship

    *

Managing site paperwork and daily records

    *

Liaising with clients, subcontractors and suppliers

    *

Helping to resolve issues as they arise on site

    About you

    We’re looking for someone who:

    *

Has a solid construction trade background

    *

    Ideally has a carpentry background

    *

Has some experience of working in a Site Manager or Assistant Site Manager role, or is ready to take that next step

    *

Understands construction and can confidently manage trades on site

    *

Takes pride in the quality of their work

    *

Is organised, reliable and good with people

    *

Can communicate well with subcontractors, clients and colleagues

    *

Has a good understanding of health & safety

    *

Is keen to build a long-term career in site management

You don’t need to have years of experience as a Site Manager. We’re particularly interested in someone early in their management career who has the right trade experience, attitude and ambition to progress.

    The projects

Our work is predominantly refurbishment, with projects ranging from approximately £100k to £1 million. All projects are Cambridge based, so there is no requirement for regular nationwide travel.

This is an opportunity to join a team where you can take responsibility for projects, gain valuable experience and continue developing your career in construction.

If you’re a skilled tradesperson looking to make the move into site management, or an Assistant Site Manager ready for the next step, we’d like to hear from you
