How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Quality Assurance & Compliance Manager

    Salary: £58,000 – £63,000 per annum DOE
    Location: Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire
    Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

    Are you an experienced Quality Manager or Senior Quality professional with a background in highly regulated engineering or manufacturing environments?

    We are currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity for a Quality Assurance & Compliance Manager to join a growing and ambitious engineering business based in Aylesbury.

    This is a key role within the organisation, responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the company's Quality Management System (QMS), while working closely with customers, suppliers, auditors and internal teams to ensure the highest standards of quality and compliance are maintained.

    The Role

    As Quality Assurance & Compliance Manager, you will take ownership of the quality management system and play a key role in driving quality, compliance and continuous improvement across the business.

    Key responsibilities will include:

    Managing and maintaining the company's ISO 9001 Quality Management System
    Leading the NCR and Root Cause Analysis process, ensuring corrective actions are identified and implemented effectively
    Monitoring quality performance and producing key quality metrics and reports
    Maintaining and reviewing company procedures to ensure continued compliance
    Planning and leading internal and external audits
    Supporting the ongoing maintenance of ISO 9001 accreditation
    Working closely with Procurement to review and audit existing and new subcontractors
    Supporting the wider Quality team with the ASME quality manual
    Working collaboratively with Engineering, Production, Procurement, Logistics and Finance
    Supporting LEAN, Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence initiatives
    Providing training and guidance to colleagues on quality and problem-solving techniques
    Identifying opportunities to improve processes, systems and overall quality performance
    Providing leadership and support to the wider Quality team where required

    About You

    We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Quality professional who is comfortable working within a highly regulated engineering or manufacturing environment.

    You will ideally have:

    Experience in a senior Quality role
    Experience managing or maintaining an ISO 9001 QMS
    Experience within a highly regulated industry
    A background in engineering, fabrication or metalwork manufacturing
    Strong experience with NCR, Root Cause Analysis and corrective actions
    Experience planning and conducting internal and external audits
    A HND/HNC or equivalent qualification in a STEM subject
    Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
    Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
    A practical, hands-on approach to quality and continuous improvement
    Experience with LEAN / Continuous Improvement methodologies

    Desirable Experience

    Experience in any of the following would be highly advantageous:

    Aerospace, Defence or Nuclear manufacturing
    AS9100
    ASME VIII
    PED (Pressure Equipment Directive)
    Welding standards
    Lead Auditor accreditation
    Pressure systems or high-integrity fabrication
    Other highly regulated engineering environments

    You will have a continuous improvement mindset, be comfortable investigating problems and implementing effective solutions, and have the ability to build strong relationships across Quality, Engineering, Production, Procurement and other business functions.
