How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for an immediate start in Burton upon Trent? Do you have a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and helping them achieve their full potential?

    Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be working with a highly regarded Special Educational Needs (SEN) School in Burton upon Trent to recruit a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant.     The Role

    As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil, helping them access learning and develop socially, emotionally, and academically.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Provide tailored 1:1 support for a designated Year 1 pupil.
    Support children with SEND, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and emotional regulation needs.
    Assist with learning activities and classroom engagement.
    Promote emotional wellbeing, independence, and positive behaviour.
    Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals.
    Implement and support targets outlined in the pupil's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
    Adapt learning resources and strategies to meet individual needs.
    Create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.Working Hours

    Monday to Thursday: 8:15am to 4:30pm

    Friday: 8:15am to 3:00pm

    The Ideal Candidate

    To be successful in this SEN Teaching Assistant role, you will:

    Hold a Level 1 Teaching Assistant qualification as a minimum. Level 2 or Level 3 qualifications are desirable.
    Have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant (LSA), SEN Teaching Assistant, or SEN Support Worker.
    Have experience supporting children with SEND in either a specialist or mainstream setting.
    Be confident supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or other additional needs.
    Demonstrate patience, empathy, resilience, and a child-centred approach.
    Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
    Be available to work Monday to Friday.Why Join This School?
