How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

PSR Solutions are working with a reputable Civils contractor in London who are looking for a Cut & Carve Project Manager.

We are looking for an experienced, highly organised and commercially minded Cut & Carve Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of cut-and-carve projects across London.

This is a hands-on project management role, responsible for taking projects from initial scope and planning through to completion and handover. You will coordinate clients, designers, consultants, contractors, suppliers and site teams to ensure every project is delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standard.

    Key Responsibilities

    Project Management

Take overall responsibility for the planning, coordination and delivery of cut-and-carve projects.
Manage projects from pre-construction and mobilisation through to practical completion and handover.
Develop and maintain detailed project programmes, identifying key milestones, dependencies and critical paths.
Coordinate multiple projects and site activities simultaneously.
Monitor progress against programme, budget, quality and client requirements.
Identify project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
Ensure project documentation, records, reports and trackers are maintained accurately.

    Site & Construction Coordination

Work closely with site managers, engineers, subcontractors and specialist contractors to coordinate daily activities.
Ensure works are properly planned and sequenced, particularly where structural alterations or temporary works are involved.
Coordinate access, logistics, deliveries, plant, materials and labour.
Monitor site progress and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
Attend site meetings, progress meetings and project reviews.
Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and method statements.

    Commercial Management

Monitor project costs, budgets and expenditure.
Review quotations, variations, subcontractor costs and purchase orders.
Identify potential cost overruns and commercial risks at an early stage.
Work with the commercial team to manage variations, valuations and final accounts.
Ensure projects remain commercially viable while maintaining required quality and programme standards.

    Health, Safety & Compliance

Promote a strong health and safety culture across all projects.
Ensure RAMS, permits, inspections and relevant construction documentation are in place before works commence.
Ensure projects comply with applicable UK construction legislation, regulations and company procedures.
Coordinate with relevant temporary works, structural engineering and specialist teams where required.
Stop or escalate unsafe works where necessary.

    Client & Stakeholder Management

Act as a key point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
Build strong working relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and suppliers.
Provide clear and regular project updates.
Manage expectations and communicate programme, cost and technical issues professionally.
Attend client meetings and provide accurate progress reporting.
Resolve disputes and project issues proactively wherever possible.

    About You

We are looking for someone who is:

An experienced Project Manager within construction or specialist contracting.
Experienced in cut-and-carve, structural alteration, demolition, refurbishment, enabling works or complex fit-out.
Comfortable managing projects in London and working within busy, constrained urban environments.
Commercially aware with a strong understanding of project costs and subcontractor management.
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
Confident communicating with clients, consultants, engineers and site teams.
A strong problem solver who can make decisions quickly and calmly.
Able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining control of programme and quality.
Proactive rather than reactive, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
Professional, reliable and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment.

    Essential Experience & Qualifications

Proven experience managing construction projects from start to completion.
Experience in cut-and-carve, structural openings, demolition, alterations or similar specialist works.
Strong understanding of construction methodology and sequencing.
Good knowledge of UK construction health & safety requirements.
Experience managing subcontractors and specialist contractors.
Experience with project programmes, budgets and commercial reporting.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Full UK driving licence is desirable.
