Major Concrete Frame Project near Bristol

We are recruiting Site Engineers and Senior Site Engineers for one of the largest construction projects recently commenced in the UK.
Located on a 90-acre site at Long Ashton, near Bristol, the development will deliver approximately one million square feet of office, training and campus accommodation.
Several phases are planned, with the initial programme scheduled to continue until 2033 so this represents an exceptional opportunity for long-term, continuous work, with both permanent and freelance engagement options available.
Our client is one of the UK’s leading concrete-frame subcontractors. With a history spanning more than 50 years, the company delivers major infrastructure, groundworks, substructure and reinforced-concrete frame packages for many of the country’s leading main contractors.

THE ROLE
Works will be fast-paced and technically demanding, comprising large and complex reinforced-concrete substructures and superstructures of up to five storeys.

Responsibilities will include:
Setting out and providing accurate line and level control
Establishing and maintaining survey control
Setting out for foundations, walls, columns, cores and slabs
Interpreting engineering drawings and construction information
Checking reinforcement, cast-in items and formwork before concrete placement
Supervising and monitoring concrete pours
Coordinating with site management, supervisors and specialist subcontractors
Identifying and resolving technical or dimensional issues

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have substantial site-engineering experience and be highly proficient in:
Reinforced-concrete frame and groundworks packages
Setting out using modern total-station equipment
Reading and interpreting structural and civil-engineering drawings
Line, level and dimensional control
Concrete-pour inspections and quality assurance
Working accurately within demanding construction programmes

REMUNERATION
Freelance: £325 to £375pd
Salaried: £65k to £75k, plus company car and benefits package

Interviews are available from Monday 21st September, with successful candidates able to start immediately thereafter.
