How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    White Label is working with a well-established engineering and manufacturing business in Worksop that requires an experienced Design Engineer to join their team.

    As Design Engineer, you will work within a close-knit engineering team developing bespoke design solutions for materials handling and structural steelwork projects. You will take ownership of designs from site survey through to a full set of manufacturing drawings, playing a key role across the full project lifecycle.

    My client is offering a salary of £40,000 – £45,000 dependent on experience, plus benefits:

    * 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays

    * Pension

    * Loyalty bonus

    * Training packages and proven development and progression opportunities

    Duties of the Design Engineer

    * Attending sites to carry out surveys and producing workable general arrangement drawings for proposal.

    * Producing both GA and detailed fabrication drawings for primary and secondary steelwork, conveying and storage equipment, tanks, silos, hoppers and chute work.

    * Taking GA drawings produced by yourself or others and completing a full set of manufacturing drawings for the fabrication shop.

    * Contributing to tender packages with input on design, cost and quality optimisation.

    * Working with laser scanned data, point clouds and Navisworks to manage, coordinate and create models.

    * Mentoring and supervising apprentices and attending client review meetings as required.

    Experience Required of the Design Engineer

    * Minimum 5 years’ experience in materials handling, mechanical engineering, structural and secondary steelwork.

    * Ideally experienced with heavy duty conveyors, chutes, hoppers, silos, pipe work, large ductwork, structural steel, staircases and platforms.

    * Proficient in AutoCAD 2D/3D — able to produce comprehensive manufacturing drawings and general arrangements.

    * Working knowledge of Advance Steel or Tekla; experience with other 3D software is advantageous.

    * UK driving licence and willingness to travel for site survey work across the UK.
