Employment Lawyer – London
I am working with a leading international law firm that is looking to recruit a mid-level Employment Lawyer into its growing London team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious employment lawyer looking for a broad and varied role within a collaborative, entrepreneurial and highly regarded practice.
The role will involve a genuinely balanced mix of:
- Employment advisory work
- Employment litigation and contentious matters
- Transactional employment support, including corporate and M&A transactions
- Cross-border and international employment matters
- Regulatory and employment law issues
You will predominantly advise employer clients, alongside some work for senior executives. The contentious caseload will include employment tribunal claims, High Court litigation, pre-action correspondence and settlement negotiations.
You will also work closely with colleagues across the wider corporate and transactional practices, providing employment advice on complex and often international transactions.
The Opportunity
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to:
- Manage a varied and sophisticated employment caseload with a high degree of autonomy
- Advise clients on complex and commercially sensitive employment issues
- Work on high-value and cross-border matters
- Develop strong and lasting client relationships
- Contribute to business development and networking initiatives
- Play an active role in developing the wider employment practice
- Supervise and support more junior lawyers
The team offers a friendly and supportive working environment, with an entrepreneurial approach and a strong focus on delivering pragmatic, commercially focused advice to clients.
The Candidate
Applications are welcomed from employment lawyers with solid experience across a broad range of contentious, advisory and transactional matters.
You should have:
- Strong employment law experience gained within a reputable law firm
- Excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills
- Strong commercial awareness and client management skills
- The ability to manage matters independently while working effectively as part of a wider team
- A proactive and hands-on approach
- An interest in business development and developing client relationships
- Experience of international or cross-border employment matters would be advantageous, as would experience of High Court litigation and/or supporting corporate transactions.
The role is likely to suit a lawyer at approximately 4–7 years' PQE, although applications from candidates outside this range will be considered where the experience is appropriate.
Candidates must be qualified in England & Wales or another common law jurisdiction and have relevant experience of working within the London legal market.
