Garden Centre Manager
Location: Surrey
Salary: Highly Competitive, DOE
Hours: Full time 42.5 hours per week, alternate weekends
This is a great opportunity to take ownership of a well established and successful garden centre within one of the UK's leading garden centre groups.
It's a site with plenty of heritage, a long standing team and a strong horticultural offering. The role has come about due to an internal promotion, creating the opportunity for an experienced manager to come in and continue driving the centre forward.
What you'll be doing:
As Garden Centre Manager, you'll have overall responsibility for the commercial, operational and people performance of the centre.
Driving sales, KPIs and overall commercial performance across the centre.
Leading and developing a sizeable team of full and part time staff.
Providing clear direction to an experienced and established team.
Maintaining high retail and merchandising standards across the centre.
Ensuring seasonal ranges, plants and other perishable products are managed commercially.
Managing costs, margins, stock and overall centre performance.
Maintaining a visible presence across the centre and building strong relationships with the team.
Identifying opportunities to improve performance and continue developing an already successful site.
What they're looking for:
An experienced Garden Centre Manager with a proven track record of running a successful centre.
A commercially minded retail manager with a strong understanding of sales, margins and KPIs.
A strong people manager who can lead an established team and provide clear direction.
Garden centre experience is strongly preferred, although experienced Store Managers from relevant retail environments involving horticulture or perishable products will be considered.
Good horticultural knowledge, qualifications or a genuine interest in plants.
A hands on manager who can balance people management with the commercial side of running the centre.
