How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    THINKING ABOUT LEAVING TEACHING?

    What if you could leave the classroom without leaving education behind?

    If you're a teacher, ex-teacher or education professional considering your next career move, this could be your opportunity to use your education experience in a completely different way.

    As an Education Recruitment Consultant, you'll help teachers find their next opportunity and schools find the talented education professionals they need.

    You'll still be making an impact in education - just from a different seat.

    A CAREER OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM

    Perhaps you've reached the point where you don't want to spend another year teaching. Maybe you're looking for:

    * A career outside the classroom
    * Better work-life balance
    * A new challenge without starting from scratch
    * A career where you can still make a difference in education
    * Greater earning potential and career progression
    * A chance to use your teaching skills differently

    You don't have to leave education to leave teaching.

    WHY TEACHERS MAKE GREAT RECRUITMENT CONSULTANTS

    Teaching gives you skills that are highly transferable to recruitment.

    Communication and relationship building - you're already confident communicating with pupils, parents, colleagues and school leaders.

    Organisation and prioritisation - managing lessons, marking, meetings and deadlines has prepared you for a fast-paced recruitment environment.

    Resilience - teaching develops the ability to handle pressure, solve problems and keep going when things don't go to plan.

    Listening and empathy - you understand people's needs and know how important it is to find the right environment for them.

    Most importantly, you understand education.

    You know what schools need. You know what teachers are looking for. You understand the difference the right person can make to a school and its pupils.

    That's a huge advantage.

    WHAT WILL YOU DO?

    As an Education Recruitment Consultant, you'll become a specialist in education recruitment.

    You'll:

    * Build relationships with teachers and education professionals
    * Source, interview and register candidates
    * Match teachers with suitable schools
    * Build relationships with schools and education leaders
    * Help schools solve their recruitment challenges
    * Develop new and existing client relationships
    * Manage the recruitment process from start to finish
    * Work towards achievable KPIs and targets
    * Deliver an outstanding candidate and client experience

    This is a people-focused, commercial role. You'll work towards targets and develop business relationships, so we're looking for people who are ambitious, resilient and motivated to succeed.

    No previous recruitment experience is required. We'll teach you recruitment. You already understand education.

    TRAINING AND CAREER PROGRESSION

    You'll join our IMPACT Academy, our structured training and development programme designed to give you the skills and confidence to succeed.

    You'll receive recruitment training, hands-on experience, coaching, mentoring, sales and business development training, plus ongoing career development.

    Your career could progress from:

    Education Recruitment Consultant → Senior Consultant → Team Leader → Manager

    WHAT YOU'LL GET

    * £32,000 basic salary
    * £35,000-£42,000 OTE in Year 1
    * Uncapped commission
    * Commission from day one
    * 35 days annual leave
    * Reduced hours during school holidays
    * International incentive trips
    * Industry-leading training and development
    * Clear career progression
    * Company incentives and social events

    WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

    You could be an experienced teacher thinking about leaving teaching, an ex-teacher looking for a new career, or an education professional ready for a change.

    You might be a Primary Teacher, Secondary Teacher, SEN Teacher, Supply Teacher, Head of Department, Head of Year, Teaching Assistant, Cover Supervisor, SENCO or another education professional.

    You don't need recruitment experience.

    We're looking for people who are:

    * Confident communicators
    * Resilient and determined
    * Organised and proactive
    * Comfortable speaking to new people
    * Motivated by career progression
    * Commercially minded and target-driven
    * Passionate about education

    Your teaching experience is valuable.

    It's not something you need to leave behind - it's something you can build your next career on.

    WHY TRADEWIND RECRUITMENT?

    Tradewind Recruitment is one of the UK's leading education recruitment agencies and has been recognised as a Sunday Times Top 100 Company five times.

    Education is at the heart of what we do. You'll work alongside people who understand the sector while continuing to make a tangible difference to teachers, schools and pupils.

    READY FOR A CAREER OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM?

    If you're leaving teaching, looking for jobs for ex-teachers, searching for alternative careers for teachers, or wondering "what can I do after teaching?", we'd love to hear from you.

    You don't have to leave education to change your career.
