How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    SHUTTERING JOINER / FORMWORK CARPENTER REQUIRED - BRIDGE REPAIRS

    We are currently looking for an experienced Shuttering Joiner / Formwork Carpenter to join a bridge repair project in Eastbourne.

    📍 Location: Eastbourne
    📅 Start Date: 21st September 2026
    ⏱️ Duration: Approximately 5-6 weeks
    🏗️ Project: Bridge Repairs / Structural Concrete Works

    The Role

    The successful candidate will be working as part of a site team carrying out formwork and shuttering works as part of a bridge repair project.

    Duties will include:

    Setting out and constructing shuttering/formwork
    Installing timber and plywood formwork for concrete repairs
    Building and adapting shutters to suit existing bridge structures
    Working from drawings and site specifications
    Measuring, cutting and fitting timber and formwork materials
    Assisting with preparation for concrete pours
    Stripping and removing formwork once concrete has cured
    Working alongside concrete repairers and other trades
    Carrying out general carpentry and remedial works as required
    Maintaining a high standard of workmanship and site safety

    The Ideal Candidate

    We are looking for a skilled and experienced Shuttering Joiner / Formwork Carpenter with previous experience working on civil engineering, structural or bridge projects.

    The ideal candidate will have:

    Proven experience in shuttering/formwork carpentry
    Experience working with timber and plywood formwork
    Ability to read and work from drawings
    Good knowledge of construction methods and safe working practices
    Previous experience on bridge repairs or civil engineering projects is highly desirable
    CSCS card and relevant site qualifications
    Own tools
    Reliable, hardworking and able to work as part of a team
    Availability for the full 5-6 week project💷 Competitive rates available depending on experience.
