Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Milton Keynes. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced TA who is confident working with pupils who require additional support and is looking for a long-term position with the potential to become permanent.
The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and the wider support team to provide targeted support to pupils with a range of additional needs. You may be supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis, working with small groups or providing support within the classroom, depending on the needs of the school and individual pupils.
The role will involve:
Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN, helping them to access learning and participate positively in school life.
Supporting pupils with a range of needs, which may include ASC, SEMH, ADHD, communication and learning difficulties.
Helping to implement individual support strategies, differentiated activities and personalised learning plans.
Promoting positive behaviour, confidence, independence and emotional wellbeing.
Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals to ensure pupils receive consistent support.
Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
Supporting pupils both academically and socially, helping them to develop essential life and communication skills.The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN.
A patient, calm and nurturing approach.
The ability to build strong relationships with pupils who may require additional encouragement and support.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
The confidence to adapt their approach to meet individual pupils' needs.
A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.Experience within a mainstream school, SEN setting, alternative provision, residential setting, youth work or care environment would be highly advantageous. Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification are desirable but not essential where suitable experience is demonstrated.
