How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Pay: £45,000.00 - £47,000.00 per year

    Job Summary

    We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented CNC Turner to join our manufacturing team. Ideally you will have experience with Star sliding head lathes with Fanuc controls. In this role, you will operate and set up CNC lathes to produce precision components efficiently and accurately. Your mechanical knowledge, hands-on skills, and commitment to quality will drive the success of our production processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machinery and contribute to high-quality manufacturing projects in a dynamic environment.

    Duties

    * Set up, program, and operate CNC lathes to produce components according to specifications

    * Interpret technical drawings, CAD (Computer-Aided Design) files, and engineering instructions to ensure precise machining

    * Conduct routine inspections of tools, tooling, and machine components to maintain optimal performance

    * Use hand tools and power tools for assembly, adjustments, or minor repairs of machinery and parts

    * Maintain accurate documentation of production runs, machine settings, and quality checks

    * Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to troubleshoot issues and improve machining processes

    Skills

    * Proficiency in CNC turning operations with experience in programming and setup

    * Strong mechanical knowledge of machine tools, tooling, and manufacturing processes

    * Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks for interpreting design files

    * Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments effectively

    * Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality control purposes

    * Knowledge of assembly procedures and plastics injection molding processes

    * Understanding of safety protocols related to machining environments
