How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Salary: £31,000 – £39,000 per annum pro rata (PAYE) + Holiday Accrual
    Job Type: Part-Time | 12-Week Temp-to-Perm
    SWIFT Temps Ltd is currently recruiting on behalf of our valued manufacturing client in Bradford BD4 for an experienced Part-Time Health & Safety Officer.
    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced H&S professional looking for a flexible part-time position, with working hours potentially suited to those seeking school term-time working arrangements.
    About the Role
    Our client is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Officer to join their manufacturing site in Bradford.
    You will play a key role in promoting a strong Health, Safety and Environmental culture, ensuring compliance with UK legislation and company standards, while providing practical advice and support to the site management team.
    Ideally, you will have experience within a manufacturing, engineering or machinery-based environment, with a good understanding of PUWER (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations) and machinery safety.
    Key Responsibilities
    * Implement and monitor H&S policies, procedures and risk assessments.
    * Conduct regular site inspections and H&S audits.
    * Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
    * Ensure compliance with current UK H&S legislation and relevant industry standards.
    * Maintain accurate H&S records, documentation and reports.
    * Develop and maintain emergency procedures and coordinate emergency drills.
    * Arrange testing, servicing and maintenance of H&S equipment.
    * Provide guidance on PPE, machinery safety and safe working practices.
    * Support the management of PUWER assessments and machinery-related safety requirements.
    * Lead regular H&S meetings with the site leadership team.
    * Monitor PPM schedules and ensure inspections, servicing and statutory checks are completed on time.
    * Identify opportunities for continual improvement in H&S standards and working practices.
    * Provide practical H&S advice and guidance to employees and management.
    About You
    The successful candidate will ideally have:
    * IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent H&S qualification.
    * NEBOSH Certificate is preferred but not essential.
    * Previous experience working in a Health & Safety role, ideally within manufacturing, engineering or a similar environment.
    * Experience or knowledge of machinery safety and PUWER.
    * Good knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and best practice.
    * Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    * Good organisational and problem-solving abilities.
    * The ability to identify workplace risks and implement practical solutions.
    * Good IT and Microsoft Office skills.
    First Aid and Fire Safety qualifications are desirable but not essential.
    Working Hours & Flexibility
    * 15–25 hours per week
    * Flexible working hours available
    * School term-time working may be considered for the right candidate
    * Part-time hours to be agreed with the successful applicant and client
