How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Construction Manager
Cappagh is looking for an experienced Construction Manager to join a Thames Water framework project based in Erith.
This Construction Manager position will take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of civil engineering and water infrastructure works, ensuring site activities are completed safely, efficiently and in line with programme, quality and client requirements.
The ideal Construction Manager will come from a strong civils background and have previous experience delivering water infrastructure projects. Clean-water experience would be highly desirable, although candidates with strong water-treatment or utilities experience will also be considered.
What the Construction Manager Will Be Responsible For
As Construction Manager, you will oversee the daily delivery of site works including excavation, trenching, pipeline installation, drainage, backfilling and reinstatement.
You will coordinate site teams, subcontractors, engineers and specialist suppliers while ensuring works remain on programme and meet the required quality standards.
The Construction Manager will also be responsible for reviewing and implementing RAMS, permits, quality documentation and site records, as well as identifying and resolving construction or operational issues as they arise.
You will work closely with Cappagh, Thames Water and other project stakeholders, acting as a key point of contact on site and ensuring subcontractors perform safely, efficiently and in accordance with the agreed scope.
    Construction Manager Requirements
We are looking for a Construction Manager with significant experience working within civil engineering, ideally with 10+ years of construction experience.
Previous experience delivering water infrastructure projects is essential. Experience within clean water, water treatment, utilities, pipeline installation or pipe-laying would be particularly advantageous.
Candidates should also have strong experience managing groundworks, excavation and associated civils, alongside proven experience leading subcontractors and site teams.
A successful Construction Manager will be confident dealing directly with clients, process-driven, organised and capable of maintaining high standards across programme, quality, documentation and health and safety.
    Essential requirements include:
    *

    *
    Previous water infrastructure experience
    *
    Valid CSCS card
    *
Strong site leadership and subcontractor management experience
    *
Good employment stability and demonstrable project delivery experience

This is an immediate 3–6 month Construction Manager contract offering £400–£450 per day CIS.
The role would suit an experienced Construction Manager, Senior Site Manager, Site Manager or Works Manager who has delivered major civils and water infrastructure projects and is comfortable taking full ownership of site delivery
