How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Role Overview

    The Operations Manager will work closely with project teams, clients, subcontractors and internal management to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the required standards.

    The role will involve overseeing site operations, coordinating subcontractors and materials, reviewing project requirements and ensuring health, safety and quality standards are maintained throughout each project.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Work closely with the project team to develop a clear understanding of project strategy, objectives and requirements.

    * Review and analyse project and contract documentation to ensure a thorough understanding of scope, specifications and requirements.

    * Oversee projects from mobilisation through to completion, ensuring works are delivered in line with agreed specifications and programmes.

    * Attend pre-start meetings, site meetings and project meetings with clients and project teams.

    * Assess works through surveys and site visits, identifying requirements and potential issues.

    * Prepare, compile and regularly update project reports, method statements, RAMS and programme updates.

    * Liaise with site teams and clients to communicate project requirements and provide updates to the management team.

    * Ensure all HSE guidelines, company procedures and site rules are followed by supervisors, operatives and subcontractors.

    * Work closely with safety teams to plan and implement appropriate health and safety procedures across projects.

    * Monitor site progress and ensure works remain on programme.

    * Liaise with subcontractor supervisors to manage day-to-day queries and resolve operational issues.

    * Coordinate and manage subcontractors and supply chain partners on site.

    * Assist with maintaining and developing strong relationships with contractors and subcontractors to support long-term strategic partnerships.

    * Liaise with the TQS to ensure materials and equipment are ordered in sufficient time to meet project requirements.

    * Manage the call-off of materials in line with project programmes and start dates.

    * Liaise with the Procurement Manager to ensure project materials are ordered in a timely manner.

    * Receive, review and respond to site reports and documentation provided by client representatives.

    * Identify potential delays, issues or risks and communicate these to the relevant management team.

    * Support the effective coordination of labour, materials, equipment and subcontractors across projects.

    * Assist with the management and development of subcontractors and supply chain partners.

    Staff & Subcontractor Management

    * Assist with the management of subcontractors and supply chain partners.

    * Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure works are completed to the required standards.

    * Provide support and guidance to supervisors and site teams where required.

    * Ensure subcontractors comply with company procedures, health and safety requirements and project specifications.

    General

    This list is not exhaustive, and the Operations Manager may be required to undertake other duties of a similar level and nature as required by the business.
