How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The below job description will outline this position of: Internal Sales Manager
    Typically, this person will be an experienced Internal Sales professional with strong team leadership and sales management experience. The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day operation of the Internal Sales department, manage team performance, support customer relationships and work closely with senior management to maximise sales opportunities and improve departmental processes.
    Duties and responsibilities of the Internal Sales Manager will be:
    • Oversee the day-to-day running and performance of the Internal Sales department.
    • Monitor departmental sales performance against daily budgets, targets and objectives.
    • Provide leadership, direction, coaching and support to the Internal Sales team.
    • Ensure customer quotations and sales opportunities are actively followed up and maximised.
    • Work closely with the Commercial Director and Sales Managers to manage account allocation and ensure workloads are distributed effectively.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, supporting the team in delivering a high level of customer service.
    • Identify opportunities to improve sales performance, processes and departmental efficiencies.
    • Monitor and analyse sales performance, producing regular reports and statistics for management.
    • Ensure accurate and up-to-date information is maintained within the CRM system.
    • Promote effective use of CRM processes across the Internal Sales team.
    • Set clear objectives and expectations for team members and monitor individual and departmental performance.
    • Conduct regular one-to-one meetings, performance reviews and coaching sessions.
    • Identify training and development requirements and support the progression of team members.
    • Assist with the recruitment, induction and training of new Internal Sales staff.
    • Manage customer complaints and escalated issues where appropriate.
    • Work collaboratively with other departments and management to support the wider commercial objectives of the business.
    Qualifications and requirements for the Internal Sales Manager:
    • Substantial experience within an Internal Sales, Sales Management or similar commercial environment.
    • Previous experience managing, supervising or leading a sales team.
    • Proven experience managing sales performance against targets and objectives.
    • Strong customer relationship management and customer service skills.
    • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics or a similar CRM/ERP system.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and produce management reports.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong coaching, mentoring and people management abilities.
    • Excellent organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
    • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to improving processes.
    • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Confident using Microsoft Office and CRM/business management systems.
    • Previous experience within the security, technology, distribution or related industry would be highly advantageous.
    Working Hours & Package:
    • Permanent, full-time position based in Northampton.
    • £45,000 - £55,000 basic salary depending on experience.
    • OTE of up to £80,000.
    • 25 days’ annual leave, increasing to 27 days after 3 years’ service, plus Bank Holidays.
    • Option to buy or sell up to 3 days’ annual leave per year.
    • Group pension scheme, with employer contributions increasing after 3 years’ service.
    • Private medical insurance upon successful completion of probation.
