How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Quantity Surveyor
    £60,000 - £70,000 + hybrid working + Project Specialised Training + Progression + Mentoring & Onboarding + high value projects

    Are you a Quantity Surveyor looking for Specialist Training and Progression, working on technically demanding design & build projects? Do you want to become a recognised specialist within a niche contractor, with mentoring and development that genuinely accelerates your career?

    This is a secure, permanent position with a respected, specialist design and build contractor, where you'll have full control of high value projects. Specialising in a niche sector of steel frame construction you'll get strong onboarding and mentoring from an established commercial team.

    The business delivers schemes typically £10m and up to £40m, operating across the UK and Europe as part of an international group. With multiple major projects running concurrently and continued recruitment, you'll gain breadth of exposure quickly and build experience that sets you apart in the market.

    You'll work across site and office and home, supporting the commercial delivery of a major Gatwick project and wider works through CVRs, valuations, procurement and close collaboration with the project team.

    This role suits a career-focused Quantity Surveyor who wants long-term technical progression and development, building depth of commercial capability and moving towards running larger project packages over time.

    The Role:

    Working on high value steel frame construction projects
    Commercial management across live construction projects: valuations, monthly CVRs, procurement and reporting
    Site/office/ homes based with project team collaboration and wider UK travel as required
    The Person:

    Quantity Surveyor with construction experience and strong JCT contract knowledge
    Confident producing CVRs/valuations and working closely with site teams, PMs and subcontractors
