How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Mental Health Assistant - Specialist School
    Location: Thatcham, Berkshire
    Start Date: ASAP
    Pay: £90 - £105 per day
    Hours: Full-Time

    Are you passionate about supporting young people with their mental health and emotional wellbeing? Do you have a calm, empathetic and patient approach? Would you like to gain valuable experience within a specialist school environment?

    A welcoming specialist school in Thatcham is looking for a dedicated Mental Health Assistant to join their supportive team as soon as possible. The school supports young people with a range of additional needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and is looking for someone who can provide consistent and compassionate support throughout the school day.

    As a Mental Health Assistant, you will play an important role in helping pupils feel safe, understood and supported, whilst encouraging them to develop greater confidence, independence and emotional resilience.

    Key responsibilities:

    Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils experiencing emotional or mental health difficulties
    Develop positive and trusting relationships with young people
    Support pupils with emotional regulation, anxiety and confidence
    Help students manage challenging situations and develop appropriate coping strategies
    Work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to provide consistent support
