How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Reception Class Teacher - Northampton

    Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire | Full-Time | September 2026 Start | Long-Term Temp or Temp-to-Perm

Are you a passionate, nurturing, and dedicated primary teacher with a real love for Early Years education?

Do you want to work in a supportive and welcoming school where children's development, wellbeing, and high-quality teaching are genuinely at the heart of everything they do?

We are working in partnership with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Northampton that is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Reception Class Teacher to join their team from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about giving young children the very best start to their education. The school is open to candidates looking for either a long-term temporary position or a temp-to-perm opportunity, depending on the individual and the needs of the school.

The successful candidate will join a supportive team and play an important role in creating a positive, engaging, and stimulating learning environment where every child is encouraged to develop their confidence, independence, and love of learning.

    Role Highlights

Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and age-appropriate learning experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
Create a warm, nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating Reception classroom where every child feels safe, valued, and encouraged to learn.
Support children's development across all areas of the EYFS, including communication and language, physical development, literacy, mathematics, and personal, social, and emotional development.
Use play-based learning, practical activities, and child-led opportunities to encourage curiosity, creativity, independence, and a love of learning.
Differentiate and adapt learning activities to meet the individual needs, interests, and developmental stages of all pupils.
Observe, assess, and track children's progress, using assessment information to inform planning and support next steps.
Promote positive behaviour, confidence, resilience, independence, and positive relationships.
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and school leaders to provide high-quality learning and pastoral support.
Develop positive and professional relationships with parents and carers.
Contribute to the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities, events, and whole-school initiatives.

    About You

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Experience teaching within a UK primary or Early Years setting.
Strong knowledge and understanding of the EYFS framework and early childhood development.
A nurturing, enthusiastic, patient, and creative approach to teaching.
Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills.
The ability to create an engaging, language-rich, and stimulating learning environment.
A strong commitment to supporting children's academic, social, emotional, and personal development.
A genuine passion for working with young children and helping them build strong foundations for future learning.
The ability to work effectively as part of a team while also taking ownership of your classroom.
ECTs are warmly encouraged to apply and will receive full support and mentoring.

    What's On Offer

Full-time Reception Class Teacher position starting September 2026.
Choice of a long-term temporary position or temp-to-perm opportunity, subject to the school's requirements.
Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications (MPS/UPS).
The opportunity to become part of a welcoming and supportive primary school community.
A supportive leadership team committed to staff wellbeing and professional development.
Access to high-quality CPD and career progression opportunities.
Experienced and supportive colleagues and teaching assistants.
A positive and inclusive school environment in Northampton.
Ongoing support from a dedicated education consultant throughout your placement.

    Professional Development

You will have access to a wide range of CPD opportunities designed to support your continued growth as an educator, including training in EYFS practice, phonics, early reading, behaviour management, safeguarding, assessment, SEND provision, adaptive teaching, speech and language development, and evidence-based teaching practice.

Whether you are looking for a long-term temporary teaching position or would prefer the potential of a temp-to-perm opportunity, this could be an excellent chance to join a supportive and inclusive primary school in Northampton.

The school is looking for a teacher who can build strong relationships with pupils, create an engaging classroom environment, and make a genuine difference to children during this important stage of their education.

If you are a dedicated and enthusiastic Reception teacher ready for your next opportunity, we would love to hear from you.
