How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Technical Contract Review

    Salary: £35,000 - £50,000 per annum
    Location: Aldridge
    Permanent | Manufacturing / Engineering

    A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technical Contract Review professional to join a growing engineering and manufacturing business based near Walsall.

    This is a key role within the business, responsible for reviewing new customer orders, understanding technical requirements and ensuring the most appropriate, efficient and cost-effective manufacturing route is selected.

    You'll work closely with customers, production, planning, quality and purchasing, helping to ensure orders are technically correct, commercially viable and delivered on time.

    The Role

    Processing new sales orders and selecting the most economical and appropriate manufacturing routes
    Reviewing customer specifications, engineering drawings and technical requirements
    Carrying out contract reviews of sales orders and manufacturing routings
    Providing technical support across the business
    Creating Inspection & Test Plans and MPSs based on customer requirements
    Ensuring all customer technical and quality requirements are fully understood and met
    Working closely with Production Planning to select the best manufacturing route based on capacity and capability
    Dealing directly with customers regarding technical queries
    Liaising with suppliers and procuring raw materials and finished goods where required
    Ensuring orders are processed accurately and efficiently to maximise production lead time
    Supporting the business in achieving its on-time delivery targets
    Identifying the most efficient and cost-effective manufacturing methods for each order

    About You

    We're looking for someone with previous experience in a technical, sales, sales engineering or quality role within a fastener manufacturing environment.

    You will need:

    Fastener industry knowledge
    Strong technical understanding
    The ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
    Experience reviewing customer requirements and technical documentation
    Excellent attention to detail
    Strong customer-facing and communication skills
    Good commercial awareness, particularly around cost, routing and production capability
    Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
    The ability to work effectively with production, planning, quality and purchasing teams
    A proactive approach and the ability to manage multiple customer requirements simultaneously

    What You'll Be Responsible For

    Ensuring 100% of customer requirements are understood, documented and met.
    Ensuring the best manufacturing route and practices are selected to achieve an efficient and cost-effective solution.
    Processing orders promptly and accurately, giving production as much available lead time as possible and supporting the company's on-time delivery performance.
