How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Account Manager
When registering to this job board you will be redirected to the online application form. Please ensure that this is completed in full in order that your application can be reviewed.
Next time your groceries arrive at the door, or you sign for a parcel, chances are our software, telematics or proof of delivery technology helped make it happen. We power operations for some of the UK's biggest names, including JCB, Carlsberg, Waitrose and Tesco.
We are growing fast, and we are looking for a driven, experienced sales professional to join us as an Account Manager. Reporting to our Sales Manager, Account Management, you will play a key role in building and maintaining our opportunity pipeline, developing existing customer relationships and driving new business through cross-sell and upsell.
We would love to hear from you if you have a background in technology sales, strong negotiating and influencing skills, and a genuine passion for great customer service and turning leads into profitable, long-term business.
Finding the right person matters more to us than a perfect match on paper. If you bring strong sales and commercial skills and share our values, experience in our technology or industry is not essential.
    What you will be doing
    * Achievement of individual and team-based targets in terms of profitability on a quarter-by-quarter basis.
    * Responsible for the generation and conversion of sales leads into profitable business, ensuring both revenue and profit margin is maximised.
    * To undertake an average of four face to face meetings with customers per week plus additional sales calls weekly.
    * Responsibility for ensuring that Microlise is invited to bid for all work opportunities in areas where we have competency, within existing accounts.
    * Manage a number of existing accounts to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and ensure the business maximises its opportunity to cross sell/upsell at all times.
    * To undertake sales briefings, seminars and other events to assist with pipeline development.
    * Responsibility for conveying expert advice to business prospects, in all areas of Product Portfolio.
    * Responsibility for upkeep of personal professional development ensuring knowledge of key business areas and technical developments. This will include knowledge and evaluation of sales techniques used in the transport, supply chain and mobile solutions arenas.
    * Provision of timely and clear quotations and proposals to customers.
    * To use company price book and sales collateral effectively and accurately.
    * Ensure internal approval processes are adhered to as advised, including customer pricing proposals.
    What we’re looking for
    * Proven track record in hardware, software, and IT sales.
    * Aptitude for understanding how technology products and solutions solve business problems.
    * Excellent communication and negotiation skills both internal and external building trust and relationships quickly.
    * Strong commercial knowledge of a variety of sectors including transport, logistics, retail, automotive and distribution marketplace.
    * Ability to work using own initiative with minimal supervision.
    * Well organised with ability to prioritise appropriately.
    * Flexibility to travel across the UK and internationally as and when the business requires and a full driving license.
    Why Microlise?
Proudly Midlands-based, Microlise has been operating for over thirty years, and recently became a Publicly Listed Company with shares trading on the London Stock Exchange. Our growing business is guided by our culture which drives the way we behave, the way we work, the way we connect with our customers, and the way we support and develop our people.

    * Private medical insurance with Vitality Health including rewards for members such as: Free Amazon Prime, Apple Watch, discounted gym membership and many more!
    * 25 days holiday, excluding bank holidays, increasing with service
    * Invested in employee health and well-being with over 20 mental health first aiders in the business
    * Employee Assistance Programmes
    * Free Costco membership, 20% off EE mobile and line rental, and other local discounts
