How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

This isn't a role where you'll simply process numbers and produce reports. You'll sit at the heart of commercial decision-making, helping shape pricing, manage cash flow, improve profitability, and ensure the business remains competitive and agile.

Working closely with senior stakeholders, you'll have the opportunity to make a real impact across the organisation while being part of a supportive team environment.

    Client Details

We're partnering exclusively with a well-established and highly successful North West business that supplies a vast range of products and solutions to customers across a variety of sectors. With a reputation built on service, flexibility and long-standing customer relationships, they've continued to grow by putting customers first and staying ahead of market demands. The business offers bespoke pricing, dedicated account management and access to thousands of products, helping customers source exactly what they need.

What makes this company stand out is its entrepreneurial spirit. Decisions are made quickly, ideas are welcomed, and people are trusted to take ownership of their responsibilities. It's the kind of environment where ambitious finance professionals can genuinely make a difference.

    Description

Finance touches almost every part of this business, and this role gives you a front-row seat to it all.

As Finance Manager, you'll become the person who keeps the commercial and financial engine running smoothly. One day you might be reviewing supplier pricing to ensure the business remains competitive. The next, you'll be managing cash flow, analysing trends, negotiating service contracts, or ensuring customer pricing is accurately maintained across multiple systems.

You'll oversee the accounts payable function, submit VAT returns, and work closely alongside external accountants during the year-end process. You'll also play a key role in ensuring the business is making informed commercial decisions, using financial data to identify opportunities, improve efficiency and protect profitability.

This is a broad and varied position that would suit someone who enjoys balancing hands-on financial management with commercial involvement and problem solving.

    Key responsibilities

Managing supplier pricing and ensuring pricing data remains accurate and competitive
Ownership of cash flow management and forecasting
Overseeing accounts payable, supplier invoices and payment processes
    Preparing and submitting VAT returns
Managing supplier and service contracts to achieve the best commercial value
Maintaining customer pricing across internal systems and customer procurement platforms
Supporting the production of annual accounts alongside external accountants
Producing financial information to support business decision-making
Identifying opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies

    Profile

You'll be someone who enjoys taking ownership and doesn't wait to be told what needs doing. You'll combine strong financial knowledge with commercial awareness and be comfortable working across different areas of a growing business.

We're particularly interested in speaking with people who have:

    Strong finance and accounting experience
Previous experience within a Finance Manager or similar role
    Knowledge of accounts payable processes
    Excellent Excel skills
    Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Experience managing cash flow and financial controls
SAP Business One experience (highly desirable)
SQL or data manipulation experience (advantageous but not essential)
A proactive, hands-on approach and the confidence to challenge and improve processes

    Job Offer

    In return, you'll receive:

    ✅ Salary £55k per year
    ✅ Quarterly bonus scheme
    ✅ Company car
    ✅ Company pension
    ✅ Employee discount scheme
    ✅ Free on-site parking
✅ On-site kennels for dogs, making this a fantastic environment for dog lovers
✅ Long-term career stability within an established business

    Important location information

This is a fully office-based role in Knowsley

If you're someone who enjoys being part of the action, building relationships across the business and having direct visibility of the impact you're making, you'll thrive here
