The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a high-performing commercial team working on an established SGN contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor with experience in the utilities or civil engineering sector, particularly someone with a strong understanding of NEC contracts, subcontract management and high-volume works.
The role will play an important part in ensuring the commercial success of the contract while supporting the delivery of sustainable and future-focused infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Generate weekly revenue and cost reports
Control and monitor submissions of daily completed works
Produce and manage Schedules of Rates
Reconcile subcontractor costs and prepare payment certificates
Liaise closely with Operations and Planning teams to monitor job progress
Identify and manage changes in scope
Review scheme works to ensure commercial and operational targets are on track
Price completed jobs across high-volume works
Analyse weekly and monthly cost and revenue data
Monitor commercial performance and identify potential risks and opportunities
Maintain accurate commercial records and ensure data integrity About You
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor
Experience delivering NEC contract schemes
Strong subcontract management experience
A background within utilities, gas, civil engineering or infrastructure
Experience working within a high-volume commercial environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
A proactive approach with a positive attitude
Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
Experience mentoring or developing junior commercial colleagues would be advantageous Technical Skills
Microsoft Excel proficiency is essential.
You should be confident using:
Excel formulas
Pivot tables
VLOOKUPs
Data analysis and reporting Experience working with large volumes of commercial data and maintaining accurate reporting will be highly beneficial.
