How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    - Select electrical components including breakers, fuses, relays, sensors, contactors and power electronics.
    - Review electrical schematics and documentation produced by other engineers.
    - Ensure designs are safe, compliant, manufacturable and meet relevant industry standards.
    - Support prototype builds, electrical testing, FAT/SAT and commissioning activities.
    - Troubleshoot electrical issues during manufacture and testing.
    - Work closely with Mechanical, Controls and Production Engineering teams.
    - Support and mentor more junior engineers and contribute to technical design reviews.
    - Help develop and improve electrical engineering standards and processes.

    The Electrical Design Engineer
We are looking for someone with:
    - Strong electrical schematic design and creation experience - essential.
    - Experience using electrical CAD software such as SolidWorks Electrical, AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent - essential.
    - Strong understanding of 3-phase LV/MV power systems.
    - Knowledge of industrial controls, protection systems and grounding/earthing.
    - Experience designing electrical systems for industrial equipment, power systems, switchgear, generators or similar engineered products.
    - Understanding of control panels, wiring practices and manufacturing/build processes.
    - Ability to perform electrical calculations and interpret relevant electrical standards.
    - Previous experience supporting or mentoring junior engineers would be beneficial.
    - Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline preferred.
    - Ideally 4-6+ years' electrical design experience.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer who wants greater technical ownership while remaining involved in hands-on design and engineering
