How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Site Engineer
    Location: Yorkshire & Nationwide Projects
    Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 + Car allowance and Benefits Package
    Employment Type: Permanent

    We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join the client, a well-established construction company delivering projects predominantly across Yorkshire, with opportunities to work further afield.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Engineer who is confident taking responsibility for setting out, quality assurance and engineering support on site, working closely with the Site Manager and wider project team to ensure works are delivered accurately, safely and to the required standards.

    THE ROLE

    As Site Engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day engineering requirements of your projects, with a particular focus on setting out and QA.
    •Carrying out accurate setting out and surveying duties on site.
    •Providing engineering support to the Site Manager and construction team.
    •Ensure works are constructed in accordance with drawings, specifications and tolerances.
    •Undertaking quality assurance checks and maintaining appropriate QA records.
    •Reviewing drawings, specifications and construction information.
    •Identifying and resolving technical issues on site.
    •Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers and the wider project team.
    •Checking levels, coordinates, dimensions and alignment.
    •Maintaining accurate site records and reporting any discrepancies.
    •Supporting the delivery of projects safely, efficiently and to programme.

    ABOUT YOU

    The ideal candidate will be an experienced Site Engineer with a strong background in setting out and site-based quality assurance.
    •Previous experience working as a Site Engineer within the construction industry.
    •Strong setting-out and surveying skills.
    •Experience with QA and maintaining site documentation.
    •The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
    •Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
    •Good communication and organisational skills.
    •The ability to work independently and as part of a wider site team.
    •A proactive approach to identifying and resolving problems.
    •Relevant engineering qualifications or demonstrable site engineering experience.
    •A full UK driving licence.

    PROJECTS & TRAVEL
    The client predominantly operates across Yorkshire, so the majority of projects will be within the region. However, the business also secures projects further afield, meaning there will be occasions where staying away from home is required.
    For projects requiring lodging away from home, accommodation is provided and paid for, along with:
    •Accommodation arrange and paid for
    •Milage Paid for
    •Breakfast
    •Evening meal
    •£50 per day lodge allowance
