The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience working as a Quantity Surveyor for a Main Contractor and will have a strong commercial understanding of construction projects.
The contractor works across a varied portfolio of projects, including Traditional Contracting, Design & Build and Cladding Remediation Works.
The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of projects from procurement through to completion and final account.
Key responsibilities:
* Commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to completion.
* Managing project budgets, cost reports, forecasts and cash flow.
* Procurement and management of subcontractor packages.
* Preparing and negotiating subcontract orders.
* Managing subcontractor valuations, variations and final accounts.
* Preparing client valuations and applications for payment.
* Managing variations and additional works.
* Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities.
* Reviewing drawings, specifications and scopes of work.
* Working closely with Project Managers, Contracts Managers, design teams and site teams.
* Preparing and agreeing final accounts.
* Maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
* Minimum 3 years' experience working as a Quantity Surveyor for a Main Contractor.
* Experience across Traditional and Design & Build projects.
* Experience within cladding remediation, façade, refurbishment or building envelope would be highly advantageous.
* Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial procedures.
* Experience managing subcontractor packages.
* Strong knowledge of valuations, variations, cost control and final accounts.
* Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
* A relevant Quantity Surveying qualification is desirable.
