How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Senior Planner - Bristol

    We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Planner to join a leading engineering and project management consultancy, supporting the delivery of major infrastructure programmes from their Bristol office.

    The role will sit within an established Project Controls team and will require a strong technical planning background, with particular experience in Primavera P6, Earned Value Management (EVM), integrated scheduling and NEC contracts.

    Key Responsibilities

    Develop, maintain and manage complex project programmes using Primavera P6

    Lead the integration of schedules across multiple projects, disciplines, contractors and workstreams

    Ensure dependencies, interfaces and key milestones are accurately reflected within the integrated programme

    Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques to measure and report project performance

    Undertake critical path, schedule variance and performance analysis

    Manage baselines, progress updates, forecasting and look-ahead programmes

    Support NEC contract management, including programme requirements, change and assessment of schedule impacts

    Identify programme risks, delays and opportunities and develop appropriate mitigation strategies

    Produce clear schedule, EVM and project controls reporting for senior stakeholders

    Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Commercial Managers and wider Project Controls teams

    Experience Required

    Strong experience as a Senior Planner / Senior Planning Engineer on major infrastructure programmes

    Advanced working knowledge of Primavera P6

    Strong practical experience of Earned Value Management (EVM)

    Proven experience of schedule integration across complex multidisciplinary programmes

    Good working knowledge of NEC contracts, ideally NEC3 and/or NEC4

    Strong understanding of baselining, critical path analysis, forecasting and change control

    Previous experience within sectors such as rail, nuclear, defence, energy, water or major infrastructure

    Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
