How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A great opportunity to join a globally operating and successful manufacturing company as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, working at their production facility in North Nottinghamshire.

    The company is looking for a mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team and provide essential maintenance support across a fast-paced production environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer who enjoys a hands-on role and wants to work for a stable, successful business.

    The Role:

    As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for keeping production equipment and plant operating safely and efficiently. Working as part of the site engineering team, you will carry out both planned and reactive maintenance, helping to minimise downtime and improve equipment reliability.

    Key responsibilities include:

    Provide hands-on support across the production lines
    Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on plant and machinery
    Diagnose mechanical faults and identify effective solutions to minimise production downtime
    Maintain accurate engineering and maintenance records
    Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and in line with company procedures
    Support continuous improvement, reliability and cost-saving initiatives
    Work closely with production colleagues to ensure equipment performance and availability
    Requirements:

    Ideally apprenticeship trained, with a Level 3 engineering qualification or equivalent
    Strong mechanical maintenance skills gained within a manufacturing or production environment
    Experience working on production machinery, plant or automated equipment
    A good understanding of planned and reactive maintenance
    Experience of automated production systems would be advantageous
    A hands-on approach with good fault-finding and problem-solving skills
