How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Manage engineering projects from initial enquiry through to completion.

Act as a key point of contact for customers throughout project delivery.

Conduct customer site visits and surveys to assess engineering requirements.

Monitor project progress, costs and timescales.

Provide clear project updates to customers and internal teams.

Manage multiple projects and enquiries while maintaining priorities and deadlines.

    Technical & Commercial

Review customer drawings, specifications, samples and repair requirements.

Support reverse-engineering projects, developing practical repair and manufacturing solutions.

Prepare accurate technical and commercial quotations.

Liaise closely with workshop teams regarding manufacturing methods and project progress.

Work with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing, lead times and technical information.

Produce technical reports and support engineering troubleshooting activities.

Identify opportunities to improve customer solutions and develop additional business.

    Site & Health and Safety

    * Assess site projects and identify access, lifting, isolation and operational requirements.

    * Prepare Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), with additional training provided where required.

    * Ensure projects are planned and delivered safely in accordance with company and customer requirements.

    * Attend customer sites when required, including occasional visits at short notice.

    About You

We are looking for a hands-on engineering professional who combines strong technical knowledge with excellent customer communication, organisation and commercial awareness.

    Essential Experience

    You should have:

A minimum of 5 years’ experience within a mechanical engineering environment.

    Strong practical mechanical engineering knowledge.

The ability to assess engineering requirements on customer sites.

Experience interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.

A practical, proactive and solutions-focused approach to engineering problems.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Confidence communicating with customers, suppliers, subcontractors and internal engineering teams.

Good commercial awareness, including an understanding of project costs, lead times and scope.

    Competent Microsoft Office skills.

A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites.

Experience in any of the following would be particularly advantageous:

    Machining and fabrication

Rotating equipment including pumps, motors, gearboxes and fans

    Industrial maintenance and repair

    Site surveys and project scoping

Reverse engineering from samples or existing equipment

    Project management
