How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Cambridge (Commutable from: Ely, Newmarket, St Neots, Royston, St Ives, Cambourne, Haverhill)

Are you an experienced Plumber or Plumbing Trainer looking for the opportunity to come off the tools and build long-term security with structured support to gain your teaching qualifications?

Do you have strong industry experience and want a role where you can develop your delivery and influence the next generation?

This is a permanent, full-year position within a Further Education environment, offering stability and clear backing to develop as a lecturer. You'll join a department focused on high-quality teaching, with support to achieve formal teaching qualifications where required.

You'll be part of an organisation committed to safeguarding and high standards, with a strong focus on learner outcomes and continuous improvement. The role also gives you scope to contribute to course design, programme development, and wider curriculum growth.

Based in Cambridge, you'll deliver teaching and assessment across Plumbing programmes, create teaching resources, track learner progress as a course tutor, and support recruitment and open events as needed.

This role suits a high status motivated person who wants to become a stronger specialist educator through structured qualification support and long-term professional development, not someone only looking for short-term classroom cover.

    The Role:

Deliver teaching and assessment across Plumbing programmes in a Further Education setting (Cambridge)
Create teaching resources, tutor learners, track progress, and support placements and course administration
37 hours per week, full year; some evening/Saturday/summer delivery may be required

    The Person:

Level 3 vocational qualification in Plumbing
GCSE grade C (or equivalent) in English and Maths
Substantial, recent, relevant industrial Plumbing experience (plus current H&S knowledge)

Rise Technical Recruitment Ltd acts an employment agency for permanent roles and an employment business for temporary roles.

The salary advertised is the bracket available for this position. The actual salary paid will be dependent on your level of experience, qualifications and skill set and will be decided by our client, the employer. Rise are not responsible or liable for any hiring decisions made by the end client.

We are an equal opportunities company and welcome applications from all suitable candidates
