How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Who will you be working for?

Join this incredible independent residential childcare provider with a single “Good in all areas” 3 Bedded EBD home based in the beautiful and rural Ombersley! This home has been operational for over 2.5 years and are currently supporting three young people that display emotional and behavioural challenges as a result of past trauma.

It is a large, clean and well-furnished home for young people who received tailored care to their individual needs. Education is a priority here and staff advocate tirelessly for the young people to ensure they receive the support they need to excel. This is a home where staff are ‘adults’ and the ‘placement’ is the young people’s home. Reporting is completed in a manner that children can understand the decisions being made, physical restraints are rarely employed, and YPs are celebrated for their achievements.

They were recently inspected in June and Ofsted commended them for the stability of the young people following their moves into the home, the staff for their relationship building, and the managers of the home for their reflective practice and commitment. The Registered Manager was described in the report as empathic and passionate, and the Deputy Manager was also commended for being equally passionate and approachable. Staff describe a family culture within the home and report feeling well supported by leaders with a positive morale.

    The Package & Benefits:

    * Basic pay: £32,240 per annum, plus £75 per sleep-in

    * Estimated package: £35,840 - £39,440 per annum, based on 4-8 sleep-ins per month

    * Training & Qualifications: Opportunity to complete a fully funded & accredited Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare qualification, therapeutic ‘PACE’ training and more!

    * Monthly rotas given in advance. No fixed shift pattern but more flexible by design.

    * Emergency shifts and cover at an enhanced rate

    * Opportunity to walk into a strong team with plenty of development opportunities

    * Progression Opportunities: Real opportunities for progression as the company expands with a second home in the near future!

    * Holiday: 5.6 weeks (28 days) of paid annual leave, including bank holidays

    What Will The Role Entail?

As a Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker, you will be the backbone of the staff team whilst on shift. * Communicating effectively with young people, your colleagues, families, and external professionals. Shift-leading, problem-solving, and being calm under pressure is vital for a Senior.

    * Key-working with young people, considering their thoughts, wishes, and feelings, promoting life skills and independence, encouraging them to engage in education, activities, and hobbies. Most importantly, readying them for adult life when they leave care.

    * Developing and reviewing Ofsted required paperwork such as care plans, behaviour support plans, and risk assessments, to name a few.

    * Following Ofsted’s regulations related to Quality Standards and understanding safeguarding policies and procedures.
