How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    You will:

Lead the registration process and maintain ongoing compliance with Ofsted.
Build, lead and develop a strong, motivated residential care team.
Create a positive, nurturing and child-centred environment.
Ensure individual care plans support each young person's emotional, educational and social development.
Maintain robust safeguarding and child protection procedures.
Lead recruitment, training, supervision and performance management of staff.
Oversee rotas, budgets and the effective running and maintenance of the home.
Build strong relationships with local authorities, families, external professionals and other stakeholders.
Promote reflective practice, continuous improvement and professional development.

    About You

We are looking for an established residential childcare professional who has the leadership skills, regulatory knowledge and passion required to build an exceptional service.

    You will ideally have:

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services, or an equivalent qualification.
A minimum of 2 years' management experience within a children's residential setting.
A strong understanding of Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
Experience of achieving positive Ofsted inspection outcomes.
Excellent knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
Strong leadership, communication and people-management skills.
