How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    AWS DevOps Engineer

    Salary: £75,000 - £80,000 plus benefits, pension & healthcare options
    Location: UK Wide | Occasional travel to either central London or Manchester
    Job Type: Permanent | Hybrid
    Requirements: Active SC Clearance and Sole UK nationality
    The Opportunity:

    We're looking for experienced AWS Cloud Native DevOps Engineers to join engineering teams delivering secure, scalable and resilient cloud platforms.
    You'll be working across complex, mission-critical environments, helping organisations modernise their technology estates through AWS, automation, Infrastructure as Code and modern DevOps practices.
    This is a hands-on engineering opportunity where you'll have the chance to solve challenging infrastructure problems, improve cloud platforms and work alongside experienced engineers, architects and technical stakeholders.

    What You'll Be Doing:

    Design, deploy and manage secure AWS cloud infrastructure

    Build Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation or Pulumi

    Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated delivery processes

    Implement effective monitoring, logging and observability

    Automate infrastructure and operational tasks through scripting

    Work with Agile engineering teams, architects and stakeholders

    Troubleshoot, optimise and continuously improve cloud environments

    Implement cloud security best practices, including Zero Trust

    Evaluate and adopt new cloud-native and DevOps technologies
    What We're Looking For:

    Strong hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure, ideally within secure or regulated environments

    Experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform, CloudFormation or Pulumi

    Practical experience with CI/CD, using tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions or ArgoCD

    Experience with Docker and Kubernetes

    Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash or PowerShell

    Good understanding of AWS networking, including VPCs, subnets, routing, load balancing and security groups

    Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK or CloudWatch

    Understanding of cloud security and Zero Trust principles

    Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability

    Experience working within Agile delivery environmentsSecurity Clearance: Active SC clearance is essential. Candidates based in Bristol must hold active DV clearance.
