How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    *

Designing lighting, emergency lighting, small power, containment and distribution systems.

    *

Carrying out cable calculations, circuit design, load assessments and equipment selection.

    *

Reviewing existing designs and identifying technical or installation issues.

    *

Attending site to survey existing services and understand project requirements.

    *

Producing and updating construction drawings and as-built information.

    *

Ensuring designs comply with BS 7671, Building Regulations and relevant industry standards.

    *

Assisting with value engineering and finding practical, cost-effective design solutions.

    *

Liaising professionally with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.

    What we’re looking for

Previous experience in electrical design for commercial or industrial building services projects is essential.

    You will also need:

    *

A strong understanding of electrical installations and how they are delivered on site.

    *

Good knowledge of BS 7671 and relevant electrical design standards.

    *

Experience producing electrical drawings, calculations and specifications.

    *

Ability to read and interpret architectural, mechanical and electrical drawings.

    *

Experience using relevant electrical design and drawing software.

    *

Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify potential design or coordination problems.

    *

Confidence communicating with Project Managers, engineers, clients and site teams.

    *

Ability to manage your own workload and work to project deadlines.

    *

A relevant electrical or building services qualification.

    *

    A full UK driving licence.

A growing business with a strong pipeline of work.

    *

Supportive and experienced project and site teams.
