How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Electrical QA Engineer

    Location: Central London
    Project: Large-Scale Commercial Development
    Contract: Contract / Freelance
    Duration: Long-Term Contract
    Reporting To: QA/QC Manager / Project Manager

    Role Overview

    We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical QA Engineer to join the project team on a major commercial development in Central London.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and managing the quality assurance and quality control of electrical installations, ensuring that all works are delivered in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, inspection and test plans, project procedures, and applicable UK standards.

    This is a site-based position suited to an experienced electrical professional with a strong background in commercial construction, MEP projects, and electrical QA/QC.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Manage and monitor the quality of electrical installation works throughout the project lifecycle.

    * Ensure electrical works are installed in accordance with approved design drawings, specifications, standards, and project requirements.

    * Develop, implement, and maintain Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and associated quality documentation.

    * Carry out regular inspections of electrical installations and ensure works comply with approved methodologies.

    * Coordinate and witness electrical inspections and testing with subcontractors, consultants, and the client team.

    * Review and approve Inspection & Test Records (ITRs) and associated quality documentation.

    * Raise, track, and close out Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and observations.

    * Monitor subcontractor quality performance and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively.

    * Review Material Approval Requests (MARs), technical submissions, samples, and product documentation where required.

    * Ensure that electrical materials and equipment delivered to site comply with approved specifications and technical submittals.

    * Review installation records, test certificates, commissioning documentation, and handover information.

    * Maintain accurate and up-to-date QA/QC records and inspection documentation.

    * Support the preparation and compilation of Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals and handover documentation.

    * Assist with internal and external quality audits.

    * Work closely with the Electrical Construction Team, Project Management, Design Team, Commissioning Team, and client representatives.

    * Identify potential quality issues at an early stage and provide practical solutions to prevent rework

    * Ensure works are appropriately inspected and signed off prior to concealment or progression to subsequent construction stages.
