How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Food Tech SEN Teaching Assistant - Sutton

    Role: Food Tech SEN Teaching Assistant - Full Time
    Pay: £110 - £120 per day
    Start Date: Immediate Start - Trials Ongoing
    Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday - Term time
    Length: Temp to Perm - Remainder of Academic Year
    Location: London Borough of Sutton

    We are currently recruiting a proactive, hands-on, and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to support within a specialist setting in Sutton, working closely in a Food Technology environment. The school supports students with a range of complex needs, including ASD and SEMH, many of whom benefit from structured, practical learning approaches.

    This role is centred around supporting students in a kitchen-based classroom, helping them engage in Food Technology lessons that build independence, routine, and key life skills. The setting places a strong emphasis on behaviour support, consistency, and creating a calm, structured learning environment for students who may have experienced barriers to education.

    The Role:
    * Full-time SEN Teaching Assistant role within a Food Technology / vocational learning setting
    * Supporting students with ASD, SEMH, and associated behavioural needs
    * Assisting pupils during practical cooking lessons, ensuring safety, structure, and engagement
    * Providing 1:1 and small group support to help students follow instructions, recipes, and routines
    * Supporting behaviour management using consistent, calm, and proactive strategies
    * Encouraging independence, confidence, and essential life skills through hands-on activities

    Ideal Candidate:
    * Experience working with children or young people with SEN, particularly ASD and SEMH
    * Previous Food Technology experience in a school setting is highly desirable
    * Background in cooking, hospitality, or vocational education (advantageous)
    * Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, resilient approach
    * Confident working in a practical environment where safety and structure are key
    * Keen to pursue a career in education, SEN, or therapeutic support
    * Able to commit to a full-time role in Sutton
